Where self dissolves, form begins...
It is less a portrait than a pulse—a gesture toward presence itself. The painting moves in dual currents: emergence and surrender, will and yielding, separation and return. It belongs to that fragile interval where self becomes awareness, and awareness becomes movement. What begins as distinction resolves into unity.
In YOU, Jenani brings her abstraction to a point of revelation—where gesture becomes language and colour, consciousness.
The composition breathes with rhythm rather than outline: one current deep and earthen, the other airy and cerulean—together forming not opposition, but conversation. The meeting of these motions feels like recognition; the quiet act of becoming visible to oneself.
The work lives within a lineage of the transcendent and the human: the spiritual abstraction of Hilma af Klint, the mystical energy of Kandinsky, and the ethereal corporeality of Cy Twombly—painters who sought not to depict, but to reveal. Yet Jenani’s voice remains singular—rooted in care, introspection, and the poetics of emotional truth.
YOU is both invocation and offering. It asks the viewer not to look at it, but to meet it—to stand in the current between motion and stillness, self and other, body and breath. It is a meditation on connection as dissolution, on the sacred act of remembering one’s own becoming.
